The YADAM Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization established in May 2024 by H.E. Demeke Mekonnen, former Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), and African Nutrition Champion. It’s officially registered by Ethiopia’s Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) under Registration Number 7260 in compliance with Proclamation No. 1113/2019, Article 21. The YADAM Foundation was established with a transformative vision to tackle malnutrition by harnessing best practices centering on Ethiopia and scaling up across Africa. Recognizing that nutrition extends beyond individual concerns, the foundation views it as a pivotal element of human development that influences the future of societies. At the heart of the foundation’s mission is the understanding that proper nutrition is essential for cognitive and intellectual development. It stands on the conviction that nutritional security is fundamental for nurturing capable individuals who can drive societal transformation.
