During his tenure as Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Demeke Mekonnen represented the nation in London at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) forum, addressing the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Education for All under the theme “Fund the Future: Tackling the Crisis in Financing Education for All.”

 

Highlighting Ethiopia’s role within the Global Champions Group for Education, H.E. Demeke Mekonnen emphasized that sustainable national transformation requires prioritizing domestic resource mobilization, expanding equitable access, and safeguarding educational inclusion for vulnerable communities and girls.

 

From driving nationwide education and human capital initiatives to his current role as African Nutrition Champion and Founder of YADAM Foundation, his leadership has consistently focused on building resilient systems that foster generational development and long-term societal progress.
