Tekeze Blue Hub Initiative: Advancing Sustainable Food Security and Aquaculture in Ethiopia

 

 

 

YADAM Foundation in close collaboration with Light Ethiopia, UNICEF, and universities has officially advanced the Tekeze Blue Hub Initiative from consultative planning to active execution.

 

Following two key consultative workshops hosted at the Inter Luxury Hotel on August 25, 2025, and November 24, 2025, the initiative culminated in a landmark consortium partnership and bylaw signing at the Sheraton Addis on May 26, 2026. Together, policymakers, researchers, and technical experts established an active execution to unlock the full potential of the Tekeze basin, scaling nutrition sensitive aquaculture, strengthening climate-resilient livelihoods, and safeguarding sustainable food security.

 

A dedicated project office was also opened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
