YADAM Foundation and UNDP-Ethiopia made a Partnership Discussion
November 10, 2025, Addis Ababa – YADAM Foundation engaged in a strategic dialogue with the UNDP GEF SGP team, led by the National Coordinator Mr. Dejene Biru. The session centered on unlocking new funding streams, enhancing technical capacity, and building robust partnerships for sustainable impact in Ethiopia.
Key Discussion Highlights include:
Mr. Dejene Biru provided an in-depth update on the SGP, which has been operational in Ethiopia since 2006. The program, a corporate initiative of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) implemented by UNDP, focuses on community-based and national NGO initiatives. Areas of common interest include biodiversity, and climate change.
YADAM articulated a clear interest in leveraging SGP platforms to enhance technical capacity, facilitate peer learning, and foster strategic partnerships. The discussion highlighted the importance of multi-phase funding and long-term collaboration to achieve sustainable outcomes. YADAM Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to advancing strategic initiatives that align with SGP’s thematic priorities including sustainable agriculture and land management, biodiversity and climate action, aiming to contribute meaningfully to Ethiopia’s environmental sustainability and community resilience.
Both parties expressed commitment to pursuing multi-phase projects for sustainable impact.
